A guest blog from CCM artist Cheri Keaggy: Lessons in Links and Retro Spotlight

Breathe, Cheri, Breathe.

I can feel my neck and shoulders tensing up. There’s a sick feeling in my gut. It will take everything in me to muster the courage, but I must. Once and for all, I must learn how to post a clickable link into my blog. I’m the featured artist this week on CCM Classic’s Retro Spotlight and that’s share worthy. Listening to vintage Cheri Keaggy tunes and hearing the stories behind them will be a great walk down Memory Lane, but I wont be able to take you along if I cant figure out how to post the blasted link. I hope I haven't offended anyone with my language. My use of the b word only speaks to the level of frustration that sometimes accompanies my dealings with computers. If you're one of those tech savvy people, I don't expect you to relate.

If you're reading this it means I was successful. Correction...if you're reading this and you can click the blue links below, and it actually takes you somewhere, I was successful.

I'm a word person, you see. Not a numbers person. My skill level with computers and techKNOWlogy is limited. Though I will say, I have had to learn how to do lots of things in recent years that I never thought I could do, and actually surprised myself. God has been with me every step of the way, growing me, stretching me, and applauding my efforts. I think He likes me.

So, I enlist the help of a friend. She kindly emails me step by step instructions to post a link into a Word Press blog. Discovering there are no less than nine steps to accomplish such a task, I think I might pass out. Nine steps to add a simple link? Breathe, Cheri, breathe. You can do this. You can do this! http://ccmclassic.relevantmade.com/ccm-classic-radio-station.htm I think I just did it! Click the link to listen to Retro Spotlight! Numerous air times are available at the site, now through Sunday.  And since one successful post does not a pro make, I invite you to like CCMClassic;s Facebook page. Wait for it. Here it comes… http://www.facebook.com/pages/CCM-Classic/204732269618509   I did it again! I just posted a second link! Woohoo!

Wow. That was much easier than I thought. I even gave the links titles so that when you hover over it, it has a name. Impressive!

Good job, Cheri. Good job.

Hope you enjoy the radio show. Funny, in keeping with my love of words, I looked up some synonyms for the word “retro” and here’s what I found: antique, old-school, old-timey, quaint, and old-fashioned.

Suits me just fine.

Signing out,

Cheri
